Did you know that yogurt contains bacteria in it that helps us be healthier? This bacteria is called probiotics and after we eat yogurt the bacteria decides to live in our gut to make our immune system stronger. Our immune system is what protects us from getting sick by keeping us well. How cool is that!
Did you know that fish contains something called omega 3 fatty acids that help our brains develop? Want to be smarter ask for some fish! Salmon is great baked with lemon and seasoned with salt and pepper.
Did you know that the different colors of the fruits and vegetables mean that they have different special vitamins and nutrients in them? Try to eat the rainbow during the week or see if you can do it in a day. Can you think of a fruit or vegetable that is red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple? It’s pretty hard!
Brown bread is better for us than white bread because it has fiber. Fiber helps us feel full after we eat and pay attention when we need to.
Milk is important for kids because it helps to build strong bones and teeth. Did you know that milk is most important when we are teenagers? Tell your older brother and sister!
Did you know that all food is okay to eat? There are no bad foods just certain foods that have more nutrition like vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein and healthy fats. Try to eat from the food groups which are: grains, vegetables, fruit, milk and meat and beans as much as possible!

Online Club for kids! Club members collect points to use at the Get Fit Store by participating in physical activities, nutritional education, and volunteering. The more points they collect the higher level of prizes they are able to choose from. The Club is designed to encourage kids to live a healthy lifestyle through physical activity and good nutrition habits, support one another, and volunteer in their communities to make a difference. This program will be used injunction with in school programs, community activities, and fundraising events.
