Jared's Story

I am Jared Fogle, known to many as the SUBWAY® restaurants guy. My weight struggles began when I was eight years old. I know what it is like to be an obese child, an obese teenager, and an obese adult. At my heaviest I weighed 425 pounds and wore a size 60 inch pair of pants!

I also know the feeling of taking control of my life and in one year period shedding 245 pounds. I had to become focused, determined, and ultimately believe in myself. It wasn't easy but through overhauling my diet and increasing physical activity I achieved my goal of becoming a healthy weight and reclaimed my life at the same time.

I created the Jared Foundation to help eliminate childhood obesity so that today's children do not have to experience what I did. I believe through education and physical activity at a young age we can reverse the epidemic of childhood obesity our country is facing.
